A nano type iPhone could be unveiled later this year after an Apple source (no pun intended) is alleged to have leaked information to a Chinese website.
Apple is said to be considering the move in an attempt to tackle the growing number of affordable Android smartphones hitting the market.
Since the launch of the first iPhone back in 2007 speculation has been rife that we’d be seeing a smaller version of the device in some shape or form.
Yet Apple has never been one to bow to public pressure, with Steve Jobs famously taking the stance that it is Apple’s role to tell consumers what they want, not the other way around.
Which is why we’re sceptical about these latest rumours. Apple has prided itself on high-end products that have a price to match, so a price war over the lower-end of the market would be out of character.
Yet who knows what goes on in Apple’s HQ? With Tim Cook now in charge, perhaps Apple is taking a different direction.
